Rule settings

Rules operate automatically - they are processed with each update of the data file, so you don't have to worry about new products appearing in the assortment. The rules will be applied to them if they meet the filtering criteria.

You can configure rules from two tabs:

  • Products -> Your products -> Actions -> Create rule

  • Rule settings -> Add rule

To configure the first rule, filter the products that are to be included in it. Sembot allows you to apply multiple filters at once.

In the next step, you can apply the rule to the filtered products. Select a column, and then define the action you want to be performed.

Sembot allows you to perform the following actions:

  • Generate value: generate a new value - the system enables combining manually written phrases with phrases found in attributes

  • Override: overwrite the attribute with a new phrase

  • Add end: add a phrase to the end

  • Add start: add a phrase to the beginning

  • Default case: start the sentence with a capital letter

  • Capitalized Case: capitalize the first letter of each word

  • Lower case: convert to lowercase

  • UPPER CASE: convert to uppercase

  • Replace: find and replace a phrase

  • Regex replace: find and replace a regular expression

  • Set empty: set the column as empty

Additionally, for attributes related to product prices and custom labels, we have the ability to perform mathematical operations:

  • Add

  • Divide

  • Multiply

  • Subtract

To check which automatic rules have been introduced in the project, go to the Rule Settings tab. Here, you have the option to delete or change the order of rules.
