Product feed optimization

Here is where the fun begins. You will learn how to manually edit products, filter products using simple and advanced filtering, create automatic rules, generate product duplicates, and quickly increase ad targeting.

Make sure that your product file has been downloaded correctly - go to the "Products" tab, and you should see all your products in a user-friendly table format.

Adding columns

To add columns, simply click on the icon of three blocks - Column settings in the top right corner of the product table.

To add a column, click on the "plus" (+) sign and select the column you want to add. Tip: To save a column set, select the "Memory" button, name the set, and save it.

Data optimization based on Google data: If you want to make informed decisions regarding optimization based on performance data, utilize the option of adding dynamic columns from the "Google Analytics" and "Google Ads" sections. The data fetched by Sembot includes metrics such as:

  • Impressions

  • Clicks

  • Cost

  • Average CPC (Cost Per Click)

  • Conversions

  • Conversion Rate

  • Total Conversion Value

  • Cost Per Conversion

  • Revenue

To activate data synchronization, click on "Analytics" in the top right corner.

Please select the account from which you want to fetch the data and choose the desired time range.

⚠️ *To retrieve data from Google Ads and Google Analytics, make sure to establish the account-level and project-level connections first. You can find detailed instructions on how to set up these connections in this: https://help.sembot.com/en/support/solutions/articles/101000508292-create-ads-platform-connection

Product filtering

To set up the first filter, go to the "Products" tab and click on the "More filters" panel or use the search filter. The search filter allows you to filter products based on title, brand, product type, and Google ID.

Let's start with a simple parameter for filtering, such as the title. Follow these steps to add a condition: Click on "Title" in the filter options. Select the "Contains" operator. Add any word that you can find in the descriptions of your products (for example, you can try "White" if you often mention the color in the product description). Tip: You can also filter products based on data fetched from Google, such as clicks, conversions, or revenue.

Manual data edit

To manually edit any product data, simply click on the pencil icon next to the parameter and start typing. It's that easy! If you edit any parameter manually, it will be permanently marked as "Override". This means that it will not be updated according to rules or when the system updates the channel from the source unless you choose the option to consider manually overridden changes when generating rules. A green icon in the parameter will notify you about manually entered changes.

Feed optimization througt AI

AI-generated titles and descriptions. For instance, if you have a weak product title, clicking on the AI icon will provide you with suggested new titles generated by AI based on the data in your product file, such as the description. You can then apply these suggestions to improve the title.

Setting up automatic rules

Setting up automatic rules

Rules work automatically and are processed with every data file update, so you don't have to worry about new products appearing in your inventory. Rules will be applied to them if they meet the filtering criteria. To configure your first rule, make sure you have an active filter, then go to the "Actions" section and select the "Create rules" tab.

Let's select the column to which the rule should be applied. Let's try with "Visibility," which is a custom parameter in Sembot. Set the visibility to "hidden." By doing this, you have now disabled products that meet the filtering criteria. They will not appear in the output stream.

Duplicate products

Duplicates are copies of a product that users can create in Sembot Ads Suite to create a modified version of the parent product. The modifications can include changes to the title, image, description, or any other parameter from the product feed.

Important: Duplicates are created only in the product feed and each of them transfers the customer to the same product card, so you do not have to make several versions of the same product in the store. At the same time, thanks to different product IDs in the feed, you can easily track which of the duplicates brings the most sales.

Product duplication in practice

The most important thing is to use the duplication possibilities in practice, and there are many of them:

  • Exact matching of the product name to the users queries (the highest possible quality ad score)

  • Full coverage of all users queries

  • Advanced segmentation of product campaigns depending on the keyword precision – with different CPC rates

  • Easily run A / B tests: titles, photos, descriptions

In Sembot, we can create duplicates in several ways:

  • By duplicating a single product and editing each attribute (clicking on the gear icon next to the selected product -> duplicate),

  • By duplicating a single product by title, (clicking on the gear icon next to the selected product -> duplicate by title, and then entering new titles for the products - after each phrase, press Enter or Tab),

  • By duplicating products in bulk (selecting from the product list, then clicking "duplicate selected," and then selecting a column and overwriting the duplicates with a chosen phrase, e.g., "bestseller").

Remove old

This feature allows you to remove faded-out or inactive products. The Sembot system retains data about products that are no longer available for sale. With this function, we can delete such products. By removing them from the product table, if they become available for sale again, the system won't need to fetch their data from scratch.

To use this feature, go to the Products tab, navigate to the Actions section, and select the Remove old tab.

In the tab, you will see all the inactive products. You can filter them, manually select the desired ones, and delete them.

Remove override

This feature allows you to remove manually overwritten changes. If you have made manual changes that you wish to undo quickly, you can utilize the Remove override function.

To access this feature, go to the Products tab, navigate to the Actions section, and select the Remove override tab.

Select the attribute from which you want to remove manually overwritten changes, and then click on Apply.

The changes will be removed during the next update of the input feed or when manually updating the feed (Feed settings -> Download input feeds).
